Town Council

The Branchville Town Council regularly meets on the second Monday of each month. Special meetings are called if there is business that cannot wait until a regular monthly meeting.

All Council meetings begin at 6 PM in Council chambers at Town Hall, 7644 Freedom Road, Branchville, South Carolina, unless otherwise announced.

The public is invited to attend all Council meetings except when Council enters into an executive session.

Time is allotted for public comments or ask questions for up to 3 minutes per person. Presentations that will be longer must be added to the agenda before council meetings. The items of information must be received by the Town Clerk at Town Hall no later than the Thursday before the meeting to be included in council member's packets.

A new law, adopted by the South Carolina Legislature and signed by Gov. Nikki Haley in 2015, makes it much more difficult for municipal councils to take action on items that are not on the written agenda that is posted at least 24 hours in advance of the meeting.

Branchville's fiscal year begins in January and ends in December. The Town Council holds frequent budget work sessions in the last three months of the calendar year.
